Vinofreakism: shepherd vignerons, sommeliers, used & tooth enamel

Robert Parker had several comments about BYOB restaurant Philadelphia which were raised on philly.com. Below is the client:

I loved everything about this place ... Add your Board and no corkage …. and better yet--no expensive sommelier to selling us some teeth remove enamel with wine acid levels close to toxic, made by some agricultural sheep on the north side of its vineyard elevation 4,000-foot leg lifted two months before the mystery, and know from grape better fed than wild species …. we all human world-saving type against drinking good wine in the name of vinofreakism …

Your ran over my carmenere example [wine naturally]

I wanted to sell the line above the Chilean wines for a time. But I found another use for it: this article is about the natural wine by Mike Steinberger on slate.com. He really advanced discussion. Client:

You can still remove immediately all the rhetoric and an example about the "natural wines," why are you stays with a simple password, is essentially used by a group of people who happen to ??????? some wines please their taste buds and/or sensibilities … I think advocates of "natural" need to ditch the "natural" label, is hopelessly tendentious and polarizing, and you should instead place the focus is really belong, on individual wines and winemakers ... Call them good wines, unique wines of them, or funky-just don't call them natural wines.

Fill the tank: self-service wine tanks to bring French supermarkets

Wine and wine keg vending machines I had only the supersized: 500-liter tanks and has landed in French.

Bring your own bottles, resealable containers of Poland Spring, jerrycans, existing. Or get one at the store. Select your grade (red, white or rosé).Pump. print a receipt.

Astrid Terzian introduced this concept that hearkens back to the age of wine shops in Paris ??????? arrives in tonneaux and when consumers bring their own to fill flagons. But today, says Terzian, she started this scheme in autumn 2008 to fill the niche, tapping into two key themes, environmental awareness, the economy.(In fact wanted to buy a property in the wine and play a b but it was too expensive, so she turned to what she says she knew how to do: sales.) Elimination of mass packaging means that wine can be sent in a much more efficient in terms of cost, carbon.

-Consumer savings are passed in the form of lower prices of 1.45 Euro/liter (approximately 2/liter).She has her first computer in 2009 July supermarket let in Dunkirk, now they are installed in supermarkets, 8 France. wines change; one is 2009 from Herron, vin de pays méditerranée.

As a reaction to the customer, says customers are taken Terzian that for a start, but then warm up to the idea, especially after taste. They come back frequently, she says.

A question via e-mail which is her favorite lead to fill a container, it says it is using the jug five liters because it "is not too big nor too small – and it is usually in French".

UPDATE: I neglected to mention the post, I think so, the regulations allow, will come to the us within a year I have someone in wine. trade today, he replied that he was already working on it!

UPDATE 2: my only question about wine pump (also known as Pompe Le Chateau) is if it comes to Jersey, Oregon, they will require a full serves as they do for gas?!

Showdown: gamay natural 12 vs. Puzelat Lapierre

Marcel Lapierre, Beaujolais, vigneron is minimal intervention, grandpappy of wine "natural". Thierry Puzelat in Loire leading naturalista, young. In fact, must place the beauty Puzelat of wines of the route as inspiration for Lapierre to make these wines.

Each one of them made gamay priced vintage 2009 acclaimed; I buy each one approximately every 12 Astor wines and then head to the top was to them. Turning to the first master, (whose son Matthew is not much in these days in the cellar), Gaulois raisins from Lapierres marked as only "," vin de France and Beaujolais (because they are already doing a Beaujolais). But the fruit reaches all their vineyards in Morgon, only from old vines less than 15 years. Light red wine should be fun, fruitiness of gamay carbonic maceration during made with enough structure to be more simply shut down thirst. If you have the habit of buying Beaujolais Nouveau, try another course, and yet easy drinking wine with my uncle instead. Matthew Lapierre writes via email are bottled it with screw cap to emphasize that this is a wine that is designed to be consumed are relatively short term.

Now the disciple: the processing of the gamay, Thierry Puzelat ???? her, made under the label Grand Cru du Boeuf Tuesday. This new vintage, it includes fruit estate, as well as some fruits purchased from Touraine, according to the American wine importer.Bottled under synthetic Cork (curved), the nose is a funky than dark little ????? and wine in the glass. The wine has a typical snap gamay but more significant than finish Guallois raisins and let it finish. achieving small but jungles, I end this natural gamay in showdown $ 12. try both if you can share your thoughts.

Jacques Cousteau, amphora [children]

We talked about the upbringing of children before the wine. Recently on the divers underwater search old wine. So I was surprised to fall to reference a book I was reading the other day my children, a great undersea life of Jacques Cousteau, by Dan Yaccarino.

"When you dive in the water near the France," says Yaccarino, "his ship and crew Cousteau has found lost full of wine jars over 2,396 years! They had a wine taste, it was a shame. "bitter."

My son thought it was a seven-year-old cool old antique taste something, even if it was "bitter".(Apparently, the comment of the Cousteau while it was "poor" axis fine.) Here's another discovery 1952 it in a book, for grown ups:

"[Cousteau] finds its depth gauge. Two hundred and fifty meters. … He stumbled its reserved valve to give himself a five more minutes.… And it. Looking like an amphora Museum … lay buried half on the slope before it.With the last degree of strength, Cousteau pulled free subway amphora. "

Funny that we get the tasty children's book notes.Unfortunately, I couldn't find any video onboard Calypso. but I'm sure he was captured in a series of undersea world sing "Jacques Cousteau".

Daniel Johnnes, Burgundy, Bordeaux will now import

Above – Patricia, Pierre Bernault from Chateau Beauséjour whose wines are now available in the u.s. marketing for the first time in five days. On the left side, Pascal Collotte of Chateau Jean artificial.

Lovers of French wine Bordeaux or Burgundy often or love. For Daniel Johnnes, which imports a lot as well as organizing ????????? hosts the annual fine, rare Burgundy, called La Paulée, clearly it is only in charge of its catch: it just started to import Bordeaux.

I stopped by his tasty terroir on Tuesday at the Tribeca were a handful of new wines is importing a note on the display. vigneron, charismatic Collotte Pascal becomes solid red (Merlot-Cabernet franc) and a rosé from its 30 acres in the region Entre-was-Mers; Bernaults, Chateau of Beauséjour in 30 acre Montaigne-Saint-Emilion, make Merlot-Cabernet franc from vines 45 to mingle.

Here are a few Johnnes (right) describes his new venture, Bordeaux from outside the system user négociant, traditional.

"My goal was to break away from the pack which bashing is Bordeaux. The cool thing now is like wine natural Loire. I saw a few friends sommelier so high fives and not one that was on the Bordeaux. but not all natural wines from the Loire are good, just as not all Bordeaux wines are bad.

These are small Bordelais and, with respect for the Earth seemed like in Burgundy. They work the minimum: wines are not filtered, low yields, with minimal handling and sulfur.

This is difficult, especially at those prices – you do not intend to reach this level California price ($ 12-$ 30).

I'm not going to dark side, I will simply say "open the eyes, keep an open mind."
